Solid Modeling and Design – S15

Solid Modeling and Design is a sophomore level design class which also introduces students to the basics of CAD through the SolidWorks program.

This course will involve an individual design project and design report. Although the final result will be a CAD model only, the documentation should be sufficient to build the actual design.

  • Chapters 1 & 3 provide useful engineering that is good for any engineer to get started on.  However, we will not be lecturing or testing this material.
  • Chapter 2 contains information of general interest in drawings as well as information pertinent to hand-drawing of engineering drawings.  You do not need to worry about the hand-drawing information.
